BRAZZISSIMO! brass ensemble was established in 2001. Throughout the past twenty-three years we have performed close to one hundred concerts. Two significant past highlights for us were an invitational tour/performance in China while visiting many cities as part of the 2004 International Heritage Festival, and our 15-year Celebratory Concert (2016) that took place at the First Congregational Church, Berkeley, Ca with a generous music grant from the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music Foundation.

Our ten-piece brass chamber music group (sans conductor) performs repertoire specifically arranged or composed for an ensemble of this size in various styles extending from Classical and Jazz to Latin and contemporary. Our musicians include both professional and semi-professional musicians, music educators, and current and former business professionals.

The instrumentation of BRAZZISSIMO!, extending down from piccolo trumpet to tuba is to of great advantage when reinterpretation is applied for famous classical works, and for the creation of new sonic textures in original compositions. We also delight in presenting the fabulous music of Broadway shows, famous big band works, classic jazz standards, sizzling Latin tunes, and other popular styles of music. With four trumpets, four trombones, a French horn, and a tuba forming the core instrumentation of this ensemble, the harmonic and sonic breadth of numerous orchestral compositions can be effectively conveyed. With our in-house composers and arrangers, along with other exquisite arrangements, BRAZZISSIMO! ‘s presentations promise to thrill and take you on new adventures within the music spectrum!
